Schedule for the community brew competition seems reasonable. I do worry that if we release in February, what does that do to the plan to have the beer at the Microbrew Fest in May. 2. I am not brewing for this competition so I don't have much opinion on the inclusion of adjuncts. I would probably confer with Matt before going too far this way. What are they willing to do. 3. Yes, I think we should print more t-shirts for Christmas. We already discussed the new quote so that's done. 4. The only pressing question is color. I think we should maybe try a heather gray for the next one, but that's just my opinion. What colors have we had so far? Off white, light green, and blue, right. I did like the green from the previous one though. Maybe John can set up a vote for a color on GrupThink. 5. How many breweries didn't get their awards last year? And why the hell can't the MDA mail them out? It's their freaking event. Oops got off track there. If they can't get them mailed, then I am all for us getting that done. We just need to know that it's our responsibility and get it done. There are my two cents worth on Asa's issues. Message-ID: <5f2003740910141924m1e7df844k324d718c5d54eb13@mail.gmail.com> Well, hearing no objections, I'll plan on hosting the meeting this weekend. 6:30 at my place. 945 Longstaff. Missoula . my number is 370 3876 if you get lost. it's easy to find, in the slant streets. From the north, take orange, past the food farm. Orange becomes Stevens. Go almost to Mount, but turn right on Harlem before you get to Mount. Go three blocks, and you'll hit longstaff. our house is on the Northwest corner of Harlem and Longstaff. It's a single story house, tan in color, with some red trim. If you're coming from the south on stevens, you have to go past harlem, then turn left on addison and double back, but you'll find it. I should have the brewing equipment we need for the party brew, but is there a club carboy or other fermentation container we can use? What are we brewing ? who is getting the supplies ? I will probably do a little something for food, because I like to cook for people, so there will be a couple snacks of some sort. not a full dinner, but something. probably some grilled game meat and baguettes for little sandwiches, something like that. I have more game meat to give away if anybody wants to bring something edible or drinkable in trade. I do have a dog - a german shepherd/husky cross who will probably be more scared of you than anything. she was at the summer party. she won't be quite sure what to make of lots of people at her house, but she'll be ok. I think that's it. see you saturday. Norman. I'll also bring an Ale Pail and airlock. So, everyone should eat something resembling dinner beforehand, and bring something to drink and something to share. Something salty and crunchy optional. I'll bring a little of my newly kegged concoction, a 9.4% European brown ale (sorta oktoberfesty), infused with french oak chips for few months. Does anybody, or the club, have one for me to use? I need to keep mine free for my community brew entry. Norman. Please just let us know if you plan to come (oh and there will be beer there)! "It was a dark and scary night...." - Let's hope so! Join us this Friday, Oct 30(the night BEFORE Halloween) from 7 PM till midnight for our first ever All Hallows Eve Party! We're making homemade pizzas with 5 gallons of Beau's special "All Missoula Hops Ale." Plus we're doing COSTUMES - so you've got an excuse for dressing up if you want! WHERE: The Cryder place @ 2307 River Road(look for the mailbox and turn down the alley) WHAT TO BRING: We always welcome extra wine or beer (or your favorite nonalchoholic beverage) -AND- we need people to bring your best carved pumpkins. The party will be indoors, but we'll set the pumpkins out on the back deck and light a roaring fire (Christian's famous for roaring fires). So if you want to hang out around the fire, you might want to bring a jacket in case it's chilly! As always, everyone is welcome - kids, friends, distant relatives, everyone! Please RSVP if you're coming so we know how much food to prepare. Questions: contact Christian(529-5568) or Ryan (529-2468). -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If we want to ensure that this opportunity stays available to us and successful for us, we NEED to blow Bigsky's skirt up this year with a LARGE number of participants. So I am asking please anyone who can squeeze in the time and afford it PLEASE, PLEASE brew at least one batch of an IBA by November tenth for this years contest! For those unfamiliar to the contest Bigsky requires one 12 ounce, or bigger, brown bottle of your brew. The bottle must be clean and have no labels on it. Your recipe can be either; extract, partial mash or all grain. However you can not use a recipe kit nor can you use a clone or other published recipe. This year we ask that there be no additives of fruits or spices. This is a very commercial freindly style and many, many people will drink your winning beer so please brew a batch. p.s. If you are not a club member and want to enter the contest all we ask is that you pay the club annual membership of $5.00. It is not expensive and we dont ask that you even come to meetings.
