Hope you can make it to this rally for justice on the UM Oval on 
Wednesday at noon. A significant portion of the event will be dedicated 
to generating support for, and answering questions about Initiative 2, 
which will make adult marijuana law enforcement's lowest priority in

“Day of the Stones” Starts with Peace Rally at UM Oval

Missoula (MT)-  The UM Students for Peace and Justice (SPJ) will host a 
public rally for Peace and Justice on Wednesday, October 4th, the Day of 
the Rolling Stones concert in Missoula.  The rally will take place on 
The University of Montana Oval from noon to 1pm, rain or shine.

“Can’t Get No Satisfaction!” is the rally’s theme, encouraging positive 
actions for Peace and Justice issues, and inspiring students to Get Out 
and Vote for Peace!

Featured musicians, speakers, and poets include Mike Avery with Lee 
performing Songs of Peace, Native American peace activist, Tom BearHead 
Swaney, *Angela Goodhope of CRCP for Missoula County Initiative 2*, 
Scott Crichton of Montana American Civil Liberties Union, poet Rich 
Gold, poet Rita Jankowski-Bradley of Missoula Women for Peace, Sue 
Bradford, Paul Lachapelle, of JRPC, Students Economic Social Justice, 
doing “no sweatshops” performance art, other supporters of state and 
local ballot issues, and UM student organizations working for peace and 
fairness in the world.  The event is co-sponsored by Jeannette Rankin 
Peace Center.

At 1pm the Rally will continue, relocating to the “free speech” area, 
Mansfield Library Mall.
