On this coming *Wednesday Apr 15th at 8AM*, the public safety committee 
of the Missoula city council is going to have a meeting concerning 
applicability of Initiative #2, the county initiative which recommended 
treating adult marijuana activities as law enforcement's lowest priority.

The meeting will be held in city council chambers, 140 W Pine Street 
next door to Sean Kelly's in downtown Missoula. You are invited.

The official description of the agenda item:
Background and Alternatives Explored: There is currently some confusion 
among community members regarding the applicability of Initiative 2 to 
the City of Missoula. This committee discussion is meant to clarify the 
relationship between city and county law enforcement jurisdiction
as it applies to Initiative 2.


This is a public meeting -- therefore, you are invited to attend. As 
chair of the Initiative #2 oversight committee 
(http://www.co.missoula.mt.us/initiative2/reports/), I will be there to 
provide some background and context.

This is important because despite the fact that voters residing in 
precincts within the city passed the initiative overwhelmingly, some 
precincts at over 80% approval, city law enforcement reports a rising 
rate of marijuana arrests since its passage -- the opposite of what the 
average voter might have expected.
